We are always looking for outstanding musicians to come teach with us. Our ideal teacher would be:
Professional
Reliable
Musically educated
Musically skilled (you’ve gotta be able to play, right?)
Somewhat flexible, schedule-wise
Working with LionWhale is not the same as working at a music studio. As an LW teacher, you’ll talk directly to the client to set up a lesson time that works with your schedule and theirs. Lessons are held AT THE CLIENT’S HOME—not in a studio. Very often, extra-curricular activities will interfere with a planned lesson time. For the sake of the student’s development, you’ll need to make an effort to reschedule that lesson, rather than simply cancelling it.
Sound intimidating? Here’s what we offer:
We do all the legwork finding students.
You never have to have an uncomfortable conversation about money with a client; we handle all that for you.
We pay for all advertising to get you students.
If you have a special program you’d like to explore (like a Strings Class or a Rhythm Workshop), we pay for everything from advertising to renting a venue.
You still get paid for lessons scheduled on most major holidays.
Even when we discount a family’s tuition due to need, you still get paid in full.
Browse our library, containing hundreds of method books and teaching materials. Let us know what you want for your student, and we’ll not only get it for you—we’ll deliver it to your student’s house.
Still interested? Here’s the next step:
Please e-mail us your résumé at LionWhaleMusic@gmail.com or mail it to us at P.O. Box 244, Bradley Beach, NJ 07720.
Once we’ve received your résumé, we’ll call you to schedule an interview. BEWARE: You’ll be required to complete a short theory quiz (easy) and audition using any composition of your choosing, played on your main instrument.
